Chicago Photos!

Various Places and Dates

There are plenty of places to take pictures in Chicago. You name it. There are plenty of areas to get great shots of the cityscape, attractions, buildings, people and events. Some of the pictures I took in this section were taken from The John Hancock Building, The Sears Tower, Adler Planetarium, North Avenue Beach, Fullerton Avenue Beach, various Chicago Street, Buckingham Fountain, etc. My favorite shot is the one with the red sunset at Fullerton Avenue Beach. [...]

Chiditarod X

Wicker Park

In February 2015, I joined up with Chicagoland Digital Photography Group and "Chicago Streets and Beyond Photography" in Wicker Park (Wolcott and Hubbard). There we did a photo shoot of entire event. Chiditarod is a charity food drive. I captured from several vantage points, including the band that played and the shopping cart racing. I also learned how inconsiderate other photographers could be. My favorite shot is the one with the llamas. Look closely and you can see beer squirting out of the mouths. This was a "fast moving" event, so some automatic settings were set lik A mode on my camera. [...]

Cleveland and Hinckley OH

Cityscape and nature

I grew up in Cleveland, and my folks live in one of the most beautiful scenic areas around Cleveland. Hinckley offers plenty of places to take nature shots, and plenty of areas for scenic landscapes. In June 2015, I went back to visit my folks and got a few shots while I visted. In January 2015 during brutal freezing temperatures, I met up with my friend Richard Trigg and took some shots around Cleveland like the city scape and the Chandelier in Playhouse Square. [...]

Chicago River Dyeing and
St. Patrick's Day Parade

St. Patrick's Day

This was the 60th Annual River Dyeing and St. Patrick's Day Parade put on by Chicago Plumbers. This was a meetup which hosted. This was the first meetup I hosted with "1001 Things to See in Chicago before you Die." It was a huge turnout. In spite of al the crowds, the lot of the group stayed together for the whole event. The group consisted of some photographers but also some new people to Chicago. I don't have a specific favorite, but I like the shot with the Kayakers paddling on the Green River. [...]

One L of a Ride

CTA Brown Line

In April 2015, I joined up with Rich Kolar for his "One L of a Ride" photography meetup with "Chicago Streets and Beyond Photography." The group consisted of many photographers, several professional photographers, and some amateurs like me. We started our ride at LaSalle/Van Buren, looped back around to State/Lake. From there, we rode the Brown Line up to Roscoe Village (Paulina), and Lincoln Square (Western). My favorite shot remains to be the "Brown Line zogging over North Avenue." The Brown Line is the only train that zogs by the way! Look at a CTA map next time. It doesn't zig zag. It ZOGS! [...]

Sheffield Garden Walk

Lincoln Park

July 2015 was beautiful weather for the 47th Annual Sheffield Garden Walk and Music Festival in Lincoln Park. This was a great opportunity for photographers to stroll through one of Chicago's finest and lushest neighborhoods, Lincoln Park. There were a few guided tours that allowed everyone to gain some history of the neighborhood and learn of its roots. There were plenty of places for great pictures. I was shooting mainly in A mode but there were a few places I switched to M Mode and experimented with a "Focal Zoom." The one shot with the door is where I experimented with the focal zoom. My favorites are the ones with the churches. [...]

"At our company's event, Eric captured the entire evening through his lens. Each picture he took, Eric encapsulated color, expressions and time and turned it into art. I got the chance to view his photos of the event and am truthfully impressed! The photos are extremely pleasing and it is surely a night we can all relive just by looking at Eric's pictures.
